MFÖ Plans Stage Return With Tema Sanat Deal

Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner will continue as MFÖ and have signed with Tema Sanat.

The Turkish pop group MFÖ is preparing to return to the stage, according to a report published by Hürriyet on 14 October 2026. Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner say they will continue under the MFÖ name and keep the memory of their late bandmate Özkan Uğur alive. For many listeners, this is a notable moment in a band’s story that spans generations.

The two musicians have signed an agreement with the company Tema Sanat. They say they also plan new songs and projects in Turkey and abroad.

What MFÖ Announced About Its Stage Return

Alanson and Güner made the announcement in a joint statement. According to Hürriyet, they said Uğur will always be with them. They plan to use modern technology to honour him at concerts, although the report does not explain how.

Tema Sanat co-founder Sercan Akkaya said he is excited to be part of MFÖ’s musical legacy. He said the company wants to create new projects that will touch listeners. Ahmet San will act as an adviser on the group’s future work.

The report does not give concert dates, venues or a tour schedule. It also does not describe the planned technology. Those details remain unconfirmed.

How the Band Reached This Point

MFÖ is formed from the initials of Mazhar, Fuat and Özkan. The trio is known for songs such as “Ele Güne Karşı”, “Sarı Laleler” and “Ali Desidero”, which Hürriyet names among its best-loved works.

CNN Türk reported in January 2024 that the surviving members would perform as “Mazhar&Fuat” at Bostancı Gösteri Merkezi in Istanbul on 16 March of that year. The same report indicates that Uğur died in July 2023. Fuat Güner said then that the duo would sing the MFÖ songs with longing for their friend.

The new announcement therefore marks a change in approach. The two members now say they will work under the MFÖ name again.

Why It Matters for Turkish Pop Fans

MFÖ helped shape Turkish pop music, and its songs remain familiar to listeners of different ages. Many Turkish series and films also draw on the nostalgia of that musical era. A return under the original name will interest both long-time fans and younger audiences who know the songs from later generations.

Hürriyet says the duo describes the new deal as a kind of second spring in their musical journey. Fans will now wait for the first official concert details.
