Vizontele 3: Yılmaz Erdoğan Names a 2028 Target Date
Yılmaz Erdoğan says the final Vizontele should be ready in early 2028.
Director Yılmaz Erdoğan says the third and final Vizontele film is in development and should be ready in January or February 2028. He spoke at the Fethiye International Film Festival in Muğla. His comments, as reported on 7 November 2026, give fans of the Vizontele series their first specific target window for Vizontele 3.
Erdoğan appeared on the third day of the festival’s fourth edition in Fethiye. He talked with film lovers about how stories become films. Reports say he then mentioned the new Vizontele project and quoted him as saying, “Bu son Vizontele olacak” (“This will be the last Vizontele”).
What Erdoğan said about the Vizontele 3 timeline
According to CNN Türk, the detail came through Fethiye local press. Milliyet attributes the information to Kıvanç Terzioğlu, general manager of Film-San Vakfı, who relayed it from the festival.
Both outlets say Erdoğan plans to start preparations “this summer”. He then said the team would have the film ready in January or February 2028. The reports do not state which year “this summer” means, so readers should treat the preparation schedule as unclear.
One note on accuracy: a CNN Türk subheading says the film will reach cinemas in “2018”. That conflicts with the article’s own text and with Milliyet, so it appears to be a typo. Also, “ready” in 2028 is not the same as a confirmed cinema release date.
What is still unconfirmed
The reports do not name a cast, a script, a distributor or a title. Earlier Turkish press reports from this summer mentioned a possible 2027 release and a working title. Those came from informal remarks, and Erdoğan has not confirmed them in the festival coverage. The 2028 window is the most recent timing attributed to him.
Why the Vizontele series still matters
Vizontele reached cinemas in 2001, directed by Erdoğan together with Ömer Faruk Sorak. A sequel, Vizontele Tuuba, followed in 2003. Erdoğan is known in Türkiye as a director, screenwriter and actor, so a closing chapter would be a notable moment for Turkish comedy cinema.
For now, the date is a goal stated by the filmmaker, not an official release schedule. An announcement from Erdoğan’s production team would settle the open questions about timing, cast and title.
