Ediz Hun Documentary Premieres at Antalya Golden Orange

Tunç Topçuoğlu's film on the Yeşilçam actor premiered on 29 October in Antalya.

A new documentary on the Yeşilçam actor Ediz Hun, Ediz Hun: Son Sahne, premiered on 29 October at the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Directed and written by Tunç Topçuoğlu, the film follows Hun’s path from cinema to academia. At the gala, Hun said the Yeşilçam era is over.

Hun attended the screening with his wife, Berna Hun. After the film, he received flowers and thanks from the festival audience.

What the Ediz Hun documentary covers

According to Hürriyet, the documentary traces Hun’s life from the film industry to university teaching. Topçuoğlu is credited as both director and screenwriter. The report does not give a release date outside the festival, a broadcaster or a running time.

Yeşilçam is the traditional name for Turkey’s mainstream film industry. It takes its name from a street in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district where many production companies once worked. Hun is one of the actors most closely linked with that period.

“Yeşilçam artık bitti”: Hun’s remarks at the gala

Speaking after the screening, Hun recalled several Yeşilçam figures who have died one after another in recent times. He said he wishes cinema to continue. He then added that, although it is not a happy thing to say, Yeşilçam is now finished.

Hun noted that very few of his colleagues remain. He called this sad, but said life simply flows on and time cannot be stopped. These were his own words at the event, not a formal statement about the film industry.

Why the premiere matters to Turkish cinema readers

The documentary is an attempt to record a career through the voice of a veteran who has worked on both sides of the screen and the lecture hall. Its setting also fits the occasion. The Golden Orange is one of Türkiye’s best-known film festivals, and it often brings older and newer generations of Turkish cinema together.

Further screenings have not been announced in the source material. Readers who want to see the film will need to wait for an official release or broadcast announcement.
