İmroz’da Bahar Premieres in Baku With Meryem Uzerli
Meryem Uzerli attended the sold-out Baku gala of İmroz'da Bahar.
The film İmroz’da Bahar held its Baku premiere this week, and Meryem Uzerli travelled to Azerbaijan to attend. According to Hürriyet, tickets for the gala sold out as soon as they went on sale. The film stars Uzerli and Halit Ergenç, who share the lead roles.
The screening took place at the Deniz Mall halls of CineMastercard, which Hürriyet describes as one of Azerbaijan’s leading cinema chains. The paper said it happened two days before its report of 6 November 2026.
Meryem Uzerli Meets Fans in Baku
Hürriyet reports that the press and fans welcomed Uzerli warmly. She spoke with the people waiting for her, accepted their gifts and posed for photos with them one by one. She also visited every hall where the film was shown.
Uzerli said it was her first visit to Azerbaijan and to Baku. In her words, the hospitality made her feel at home from the first moment. She added that the strong interest in the film increased her happiness and excitement. The report does not mention Ergenç at the event.
What We Know About İmroz’da Bahar
Turkish outlets describe the film as a romantic drama directed and written by Özcan Alper. It was shot on Gökçeada in Çanakkale province. The title refers to Imroz, the Turkish name of the island, known in English as Imbros.
The project also marks a reunion. Ergenç and Uzerli last worked together on the historical series Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century), where they played Sultan Suleiman and Hürrem. Turkish media have presented the film as their first shared project in about 15 years.
Reports differ on release plans. One outlet mentioned a Turkish cinema date, and another mentioned an earlier premiere in Egypt. Neither could be confirmed, so this article does not give a release date. Viewers outside Türkiye should wait for an official announcement from the producers.
Why the Baku Event Matters
Turkish series and films have a large audience in Azerbaijan, which shares close linguistic and cultural ties with Türkiye. A sold-out gala there shows how far the reputation of these two actors reaches beyond Turkish screens. For fans of period drama, it also shows continuing interest in a pairing that audiences first knew from an Ottoman setting.
