Turkic World Concert in Ankara Gathers 400 Artists on One Stage
The concert at Ankara Arena marked the Republic's 103rd anniversary with Dimash as guest.
A Turkic World Special Concert (Türk Dünyası Özel Konseri) brought 400 artists onto one stage at Ankara Arena for the 103rd anniversary of the Turkish Republic. The Presidential Symphony Orchestra, soloists, choirs and dance groups performed together, with Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen as special guest.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended. According to CNN Türk, the hall was full and the audience applauded along with the performances.
Who performed at the Turkic World Special Concert
Conductor Cemi’i Can Deliorman led the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. Murat Karahan and Zarina Altynbayeva sang, joined by other soloists from the Turkic world. Choirs and dance troupes supported them on stage.
The concert belongs to the Organization of Turkic States (Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı, TDT) Republic Day Concerts. Several officials also attended, including TÜRKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Gökhan Yazgı. TÜRKSOY is the international organisation for Turkic culture.
What the minister said about shared heritage
Ersoy wrote on social media that the evening united “400 artists, one stage, one excitement.” He said the artists had shown the richness of a common culture and the strength of fraternity. He also promised to keep strengthening ties across the Turkic world through culture and the arts.
These are the minister’s own words, not independent assessments. Still, they show how Türkiye frames culture as a link between Turkic-speaking countries.
Why Republic Day music matters to viewers
Republic Day marks the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on 29 October 1923. Concerts are a regular part of the celebrations each year. This one added a wider theme: the musical and cultural links between Turkic communities.
Readers of Turkish historical drama will know how often these series draw on early Turkic and Anatolian roots. A stage production is not a history lesson, though. The concert celebrated living musical traditions and did not claim to present a historical account.
Second concert for heads of state
The programme continues with a separate invitation-only concert at the Beştepe Cultural and Congress Centre in the Presidential Complex. It is planned for 29 October in honour of the TDT heads of state. Dimash Qudaibergen is due to perform there with his own band.
